Pikes Peak AR '13

An all new course on Pikes Peak starting from Green Mountain Falls. Running, Biking, Kayaking, and Special Challenges await you on this 12hr adventure. There is also a family fun division, appx 1hr, in which you choose running and/or biking.

12 Hour Pikes Peak Adventure Race

Race Day: Saturday, June 22, 2013
Venue: Pikes Peak's Base & Green Mountain Falls, Colorado


Race: Approximately 30-50 mountain miles of trekking, biking, lake paddling, and a mystery event in one of our favorite places on earth.  We're excited to share it with you.



Price: 
  • Normal registration: $99 per person until June 1.
  • Late registration: $109 (mail-in registrations must be received by June 14, online registrations through June 17).

Check-In, Waivers, Materials Distribution: 
Friday, June 21 @ 4:30 pm - 8:00pm at Green Mountain Falls Gazebo Lake Park 

Bike, Transition Box (Containing Bike & Boat Gear in 1 box/person) Drop Off:  
Friday, June 21 @ 4:30pm - 8:00 pm (following materials distribution at Gazebo Lake Park, the race start/finish)

Race Morning Check-in, Passport Receipt, Pre-race Meeting:
Saturday, June 22 from 7:00 am

Race Start
Saturday, June 22 @ 8am at Green Mountain Falls Gazebo Lake Park.  

Mandatory Race Cutoff:
Saturday, June 22 @ 8pm.  
*Don't be late!!!  There will be a huge penalty if late to the finish!  We don't want to send out a search party!*

*This race includes strategy.  There are optional checkpoints and mandatory checkpoints.  Racers should always consider skipping strategic checkpoints when time cutoffs are going to be an issue.  

Events in no particular order:
Trekking - 13-15 miles
Biking - 15-25 miles
Lake Kayaking - 3-6 miles (kayak and paddles provided)
Navigation Throughout
Mystery Event - Hmm....wouldn't you like to know....mwahahaha....

L'il Pikes Peak Adventure Race

This Race Length was cancelled due to lack of registrations. 


Race Day: Saturday, June 22, 2013
Venue: Green Mountain Falls, CO


Race: An hour introductory race aimed at beginners and families.  Bring your bike and/or running shoes.  You will be using a simple map to find checkpoints and can choose whether you bike or walk or run to find those checkpoints.  There will also be a simple kayak challenge included in this race.  Big Mountain Adventure will provide the kayak and personal flotation devices.

Important Time
Check In and Race Start:  
Come any time in the window of 4-6pm, get a map and begin!  
Check in and race start is at Green Mountain Falls' Gazebo Lake Park.

Divisions:
Any team composition is allowed.  All ages are allowed.

Because of the low cost of this event, no prizes/SWAG are given. The entry fee simply pays our insurance cost for participants.
