Our second adventure race of 2011 has two different race lengths. The Sprint race (5-8hr) is aimed at being beginner friendly similar to the Rock2Rock race. However, this course will not have any elements of urban AR and will be absolutely gorgeous. The Sport race (12-14 hr) covers more beautiful ground and has more focus on strategy and teamwork and will prepare you for the third race in the fall. This will be a memorable adventure race; we're honored to share it with you. This race is what adventure racing is all about! Logistics The format of this race will include gear drops. You will bring your labeled boxes to a central location and BMA staff will drop your gear for you (your gear will be monitored). The start and finish of this race will be in the same location. Camping at the start/finish location is available for $12/night. If intestered, please send an email to [email protected]. More information will be available in coming race updates. Parking There is limited parking at the start/finish campground. The majority of parking will be at the Woodland Park Middle school. BMA will shuttle you to and from the start/finish if you need to park at the school. See more details in coming race updates. Race Rules Specific race rules will be distributed at the pre-race meeting. These build on BMA's General Race Rules. Please note that race rules will be enforced for your safety and to keep the race fair to all participants. BMARE CompetitionBig Mountain Adventure Racing for the Environment (BMARE): We provide each team with a trashbag to have our participants collect trash at the race venue. There are two conditions for winning BMARE: amount and creativity. The team that collects the most amount of trash by weight wins first prize. The team that provides the most creative display of the trash collected within a 10 minute period wins second prize. Everyone has an equal chance to win this competition, but the environment is the real winner. The competition will be judged at the post race party.

Mountain bike, trail run, flat water paddle, tackle special challenges, and zipline this awesome course at the Rampart Reservoir. Choose between sprint length (5-8hr) and sport length (12-15hr) course options. The sport length also includes a tyrolean traverse. Beautiful camping is available at the start/finish; lodging in Woodland Park is also available (see race update #1). Kayaks and paddles are provided for each racer. Ropes gear rental options are available. Our last race sold out - don't miss out! Kayaks and paddles are provided and are included in your race registration costs.
